Many of you will have heard of LSVT LOUD and BIG. They are programmes which address two of the major symptoms of Parkinson’s: difficulties in projecting the voice and a tendency for movement to be restricted. The organisation which developed these two programmes offers information on the web on a regular basis. The webinars are free and well worth a visit. There is one coming up in November which gives some insight into the principles of the system. Details are given below.

The Secret to Success in LSVT LOUD® and LSVT BIG®: It is more than just exercises!

The “heart of success” of LSVT LOUD and LSVT BIG therapy depends upon each person’s ability to recognize, accept, and then consistently produce louder speech and bigger movement that is required to be within normal limits. This webinar will review three key elements of PD that can make achieving this goal challenging, including sensory, internal cuing and subtle neuropsychological changes. This will be followed by a review of how LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD participants can make sure they are setting themselves up for success as they complete all components of LSVT treatment including daily homework and carryover assignments.
