March’s monthly meeting saw a change from the advertised speaker but it was a treat nevertheless.  Karen Elliott came and gave a fascinating insight into the power of laughter, particularly when it is accompanied by exercises which give our muscle tissue more connectivity.

Karen took control of the room and under her instruction we passed laughter round the room to each other using imaginary balls and goodwill.   And all the while remaining seated so that everyone was included in the fun.  Karen has studied Intrinsic Biomechanics and Structural and using a combination of BIG, pilates and her twenty years of personal experience has developed techniques to improve mobility in all of us.  This applies whether we have Parkinsons or any other movement limiting condition, or simply stiffness through lack of exercise.

So we laughed for nearly an hour, with purpose and enjoyment, under the skilled direction of our surprise speaker, Karen Elliott.
