Meryl and some of her Friday morning dancers all got together at the University of Hertfordshire’s Vice Chancellor’s Garden Party recently to celebrate the call of the samba rhythm.  While the dancers swung their hips to the drum beat of the marvellous samba band the cake stall did excellent business earning a creditable £77 for the branch funds.  Thanks must go to Dawn Rose and Maria Thomas from the University who set up the event and the lovely student volunteers who are always so helpful.  We can’t thank Becki Hadley and Amelia Hall enough for their organisation of the dancing throughout the year and we are looking forward to next year’s sessions.  Although this is beginning to sound like an Oscar winning list of appreciation Meryl is up there with the stars and does a great job. Thank you everyone who took part, rattled a maraca or shook a tambourine, bought cake or simply supported us. It was a really good afternoon.
